Sozopol is an ancient seaside town located on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, 35 km south of Burgas city. It was founded in 610 BC by Greek colonists from Miletus and was initially named Apollonia Pontica in honour of the Greek god Apollo. Ropotamo Nature Park is a protected area located near the town of Sozopol. The park covers an area of 1000 hectares and protects the unique flora and fauna of the Ropotamo River and its surrounding areas. One of the most popular activities in the Ropotamo Nature Park is a boat trip along the Ropotamo River.
